2025 Men's Foursomes Champions

Despite a cold and blustery day, we wrapped up our Foursomes Championship in style!

In the morning semi-final, Rick Castricum & Matthew Rundle took on Leigh Bomford & Ben Love. After a tight contest, Rick & Matthew prevailed on the 19th Hole.

That result set up a blockbuster final against the #1 seeds, Mark Halas & Daniel Burnett, who showed their class, proving too strong for Rick & Matthew and claiming the Championship 7&5.

Two Morning Hole-In-Ones!

The Members Lounge was buzzing last Saturday morning after two fantastic hole-in-ones were recorded!

Troy Burnett aced the 3rd Hole, while long-term member Ian Sweeney added yet another to his impressive record, scoring a hole-in-one on the 15th.

Ian has achieved multiple hole-in-ones and even an albatross at Ranfurlie over his many years of membership.

Last Saturday, we were thrilled to witness a rare albatross from 26–35 Member Jacob De Leon.

On the 18th, Jacob’s fairway strike found the cup for a two on a par-5. The momentum continued as he also took out the daily A Grade competition with 41 points.

Course Update – Temporary Hole and Access Changes
A Message from your Course Superintendent Andrew Anderson

Please note that from Monday 20th, the 4th green will be out of play to allow for upcoming works.
During this period, the hole will play as a short par 4 measuring approximately 275 metres. Members are reminded to exercise caution — if you are capable of reaching the green from the tee, please ensure the group ahead and any staff working nearby are clear before playing your shot.
Additionally, the 5th tee will be relocated to a temporary position at the front of the 5th fairway. The entire area surrounding the 4th green and 5th tee will be designated as an exclusion zone.
Only authorised personnel will be permitted within this area. Do not enter under any circumstances without prior approval from the Course Superintendent.
For those interested in learning more about the design and construction process, further information is available in the Members Bar.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while these works are underway — they’re part of our continued commitment to providing the best possible course and playing experience for our members.

Please note that this coming Monday we have a large morning Charity event.

The event will consist of an early morning shotgun start, and as a result casual play will only be available after approximately 1pm.

Jack Ash Trophy – Save the Date

This much loved club event returns on Sunday, November 9th - the second Sunday of the month.
The event will be played Sunday afternoon, followed by dinner upstairs at Ranfurlie.
Entries & Seating: Contact the Pro Shop to pay the entry fee and enter, also advise your preferred table settings. Full Members $35 with Lifestyle Members paying $50 which includes Golf and Dinner.
Eligibility for the Trophy:
All Member categories, including Lifestyle members are eligible to play in the Jack Ash event, however only Full Category Members playing within the same group are eligible for the Jack Ash Trophy. (Lifestyle and Ranfurlie 9 members are ineligible to win Jack Ash Trophy).

Junior Pennant Update – Round 3

Match: Ranfurlie vs Woodlands @ Ranfurlie
Result: Ranfurlie 5 – Woodlands 1

Despite a closely contested match throughout the round, the team came alive in the back 9 to storm home to a win. A sincere thank you to all players, caddies, and supporters who came out to show their encouragement on the day.

We encourage everyone to come down and support the team in their top of the table Rd 4 clash against Rossdale GC @ Rossdale on Sunday from 12.33pm.

Senior Pennant – Round 3 at Woodlands GC

Ranfurlie’s third fixture in the seven-match Senior Pennant series saw a tightly contested 4–3 scratch team victory against Woodlands at Keysborough.
Highlights included Worrell Baptist’s brilliant holed bunker shot birdie on the 16th, which was matched by his opponent on the 17th, before Worrell sealed the win on the 18th. Steve McPherson followed up with a solid 2&1 victory, while Will Carter and Albert Gigl secured the team win with 1-up and 2&1 results respectively.
In the handicap event, Ranfurlie went down 5½–1½, with David Loughnan fighting back from behind to claim victory and John Macgregor rallying late to halve his match.
The team now heads across the road to Settlers Run this Friday to take on Southern GC, with tee-off at 11:30am.

The Longest Day – Golf for a Great Cause
Monday December 8th

We're excited to announce that Ranfurlie will be taking part in The Longest Day - The ultimate golf challenge to raise funds for the Cancer Council.

The challenge is to complete four rounds of golf in one day — a true test of endurance, teamwork and determination — all while supporting cancer research and prevention.

It’s a great way to spend a day on the course with mates, push yourself to the limit, and make a real difference in the fight against cancer.

Registration is now open for members and their guests with guests paying the one 18-hole fee regardless of how many holes they play, and any Cart hire will be charged at $44 per 18 holes required.
