Men's 2026 Championships Finals

The Men’s Quarter Finals got underway last Saturday with some outstanding match play and a few commanding performances from the tournament favorites.

Star contender Mark Halas showed why he has been so highly rated, defeating a gallant Ben Shelag 8/7 in a dominant display. In another quality contest, Michael Hanrahan had his hands full against talented junior Rikau Carylon, eventually prevailing 2/1 in a tightly fought match. Shaun Burnett progressed through to the Semi Finals via a walkover, while fellow favorite Daniel Burnett produced a convincing 4/3 victory over Matthew James.

The Semi Finals did not disappoint, with both matches teeing off early in anticipation. Mark Halas received a genuine scare from Michael Hanrahan, turning one down after nine holes. However, Mark Halas steadied, found his rhythm, and closed out the match 4/3 to book his place in the Final.

In the much-anticipated father-and-son clash, Shaun Burnett faced Daniel Burnett, but it was the prodigy who shone brightest. Daniel delivered a superb performance to defeat his father 5/4 and secure his spot in the Championship decider.

The stage is now set for a thrilling 36-hole Club Championship Final this coming Saturday between Mark Halas and Daniel Burnett. Best of luck to both competitors as they battle it out for the title.

A reminder to all Saturday competition players: you will be playing off the white tees, and if the Club Championship Final group comes up behind you — which is highly likely — they must be given immediate right of way.

Top Gun – Extended a Week

Due to the Driving Range works last week, the Top Gun competition was unable to be played.

As a result, the series has been extended by one week, with the final home and away round now Tuesday 3rd March.

Robert Sommer – 1,479 points

The Top Ten Shootout will take place the following Tuesday 10th Match, commencing from 4.30pm off the 1st tee, with players competing in two groups of five with all player notified after the final round.
Best of luck to all players as we head into the final round of this year’s Top Gun series.

Ranfurlie Range Now Open Continuously Across the Weekend

The game doesn’t stop — and now, neither does the Ranfurlie Range.

We’re pleased to advise that the range will now operate continuously across the weekend, remaining open from 10:00am Friday through until 10:30pm Sunday each week.

This extended access provides members with greater flexibility to practice at a time that suits their schedule, whether that be early morning, late evening, or any time in between.

We look forward to seeing members make the most of the range across these extended hours.

4th Green Update from your Course Superintendent

Dear Members,

I’m pleased to provide a further update on the progress of the 4th green.

We have now received laboratory test results confirming there is no residual pesticide present within the green profile. This is the best possible news we could have received, as it means we can proceed with recovery works without concern of ongoing damage or further turf loss.

Ranfurlie’s first match in Division 4 at Northern Golf Club on Sunday produced an outstanding 5-2 win against Sanctuary Lakes. A measure of the win is our opponents narrowly missed promotion to Division 3 last season and in recent times have been in division 2.

Simultaneous finishes saw Anthony Arce winning 1/up at 18th while debutant Jason Mulligan was winning his match 4-2 at 16th. Club championship finalist Mark Halas had his match under control throughout winning 4-3 despite his opponent delaying the result with three birdies after the turn. Ryan Haywood eased to victory 3-2 leaving our other club championship finalist Daniel Burnett to complete the fine result winning 2-1.

Ranfurlie travel to Gisborne Golf Club on Sunday to face Berwick Montuna commencing at 12:10pm.

April 1st Renewals

Preparations are underway for the 1st April Membership Renewals. If you wish to change your membership category or resign your membership, please contact Renae at memberadmin@ranfurlie.com.au.

All requests must be made in writing, so email is the preferred method.

From April 1, some memberships may be subject to a 5% increase. This adjustment reflects rising operating costs and ensures the Club can continue to maintain course standards, facilities and service for our members. The increase is broadly aligned with CPI and forms part of the Boards ongoing commitment to balancing financial sustainability with member value.

Updated Fee schedules will be communicated directly to members ahead of the renewal period.
