You may notice a new face when you walk in the club doors this week as we welcome our new Golf & Membership Manager, Sahil Sahib as he starts his new journey with us from this week!

Sahil brings with him over 10 years of experience at The National – Long Island, along with a passion for delivering exceptional golf and member experiences. We’re confident his expertise and fresh perspective will be a valuable asset to our Club. 

Please join us in warmly welcoming Sahil to the Ranfurlie Team. We look forward to working together to make your time at the Club better than ever — both on and off the course! 

Winter Order of Merit and Winter Eclectic leaders

With the current season of Order of Merit and Eclectics wrapping up at the end of the month, check out the latest leaders. A new summer season kicks off in early October on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with Order of Merit points earned each time you enter The Lot competition.

For the Saturday Gross and Net Eclectic, entry is automatic with the $5 club comp of the day. Women’s events include the Sunday yearly Eclectic, plus Wednesday Net and Gross yearly events, all by entering the daily club competition.

For new members, what is Eclectic?

• Imagine you play multiple rounds of golf on the same course as a member.
• Each time you play, you might hit a really great shot or get a really good score on a hole.
• With an eclectic, you take the best score you’ve had on each hole (over all those rounds in the date period) and put them together into one “dream round.”
• All scores are automatically updated each week you play.

CURRENT WINTER ORDER OF MERIT LEADERS: There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize for each event.

Keep the kids active and having fun these school holidays with our Junior Golf Clinics!

These sessions are a great way for young golfers to learn new skills, improve their game, and enjoy time on the course with friends. Led by our Lead Professional, Jack Cox, each session is designed to introduce and strengthen the fundamentals of golf in an engaging and supportive environment.

Changes Coming to Ranfurlie Golf Club

There are a few important changes on the way for golfers. Golf Australia CONNECT will replace the GOLF Link system and go live on 2 October 2025 as Golf Australia’s new digital platform. This new system will feature a fresh website (GOLF.com.au) and an official Golf Australia App to manage handicaps and other digital services.

Please note that GOLF Link will cease to operate on 28 September 2025, creating a short blackout period for handicapping before the new platform launches. From October 2, all handicapping will be managed through the new Golf Australia App.

Important Timelines and Impacts to Members during Transition dates.

Monday 29th September - While handicaps are frozen from today, the Mi Club competition system will remain in operation.

Tuesday  30th September - While handicaps are frozen from today, the Mi Club competition system will remain in operation.

Wednesday 1st October - Scheduled for Mi Club's uploading of their systems, meaning the Mi Clubs competition processes will not be available. As result, the Ladies Medal day will be move to the 15th October, leaving opportunity to run the 2 week Ladies Foursomes Championship on the 1st and 8th of October.

Thursday 2nd October to Sunday 5th October - While handicaps are frozen from today, the Mi Club competition system will remain in operation.

From Monday 6th October the Golf Connect process will be in place, with Competitions and Handicapping submissions available for use.

PLEASE NOTE: With the transitions players may find adjustments to their G.A handicap. And also during the transition dates above, all scores submitted will not be retrospectively handicapped once the next system is unveiled.

We thoroughly recommend for future handicap lookup, that all members download the golf connect app to their phone in preparation for the changes.

Throughout the period and moving forward, pro shop staff will be on hand to assist members with any teething issues.

Tee Breakers!

Tee Breakers have taken out this year’s GPL Season, defeating Foregasms in last week’s final.

Winning Team:
Ben Thomas, Johnny Macgregor, Paul Harris, and Charlie Taukiri.

Also announced on the night:

• All Ranfurlie Team – celebrating the standout performers of the season.

• Ranfurlie Medal Winners – Congratulations to Matt Schefermann and David Buela, who shared the medal on 7 votes each and both received a $50 Gift Card.

• Knockout Trophy Winners – Ivan's Fave's claimed the "best of the rest" title and will have their team name inscribed on the Knockout Trophy.

Prizes:

• Tee Breakers received a $200 group gift card to celebrate together, plus $125 gift cards for each team member.

• Runner-up team Foregasms each received a $50 gift card.

A big thank you to all teams who participated in this year’s event – we look forward to another fantastic season next year!

Booking System Update – Effective October 1

To address issues with no-shows especially on weekend timesheets and the challenges many working members face with the 10am release time, the club is introducing the following changes for a trial period:

• Full Members:

  • Bookings will open 6 days in advance at 7pm.

  • Sundays will remain an exception with bookings opening 7 days in advance at 7:15pm.

• Lifestyle Members:

  • Weekday bookings will follow the same system as above.

  • Weekend bookings will continue to open at 10am on the Monday Morning, 5 & 6 days prior.

Example:

• Bookings for the following Saturday timesheet will open on the Sunday at 7pm.

• Bookings for the following Sunday timesheet will open on the same Sunday at 7:15pm.

Registration & Scorecards

• Players will be registered for the competition by the Pro Shop.
• Pre-printed scorecards will be provided once the $5 per player entry fee is paid.
• The Mi Score App may still be used, but you must collect your pre-printed card to confirm you are paired with the correct partner.
• Please do not manually select playing partners via Mi Score - The Pro Shop will control pairings to ensure accurate results.

Timesheet Setup

• This is a pairs-only event. Please coordinate with your partner to book into Cells 1 & 2, or 3 & 4 on the timesheet so you are paired correctly.
• If you are playing in a group of three, the lowest marker will act as the swinger and must be booked in Cell 1, partnering with both Cell 2 & Cell 3.

Scoring Format

• On each hole, record the best score of the two players.

Clearly indicate whether the score was made by Player 1 (P1) or Player 2 (P2), as handicap differences may affect the final score, this will make the score upload at end of your round much smoother.
