Veterans Cricket Australia

Veterans Cricket Australia recently marked a historic milestone, hosting the inaugural Over 55’s Tri-Series at Harrop Park in Mackay, Queensland.

This groundbreaking event brought together three unique teams: the Australian Over 55’s, New Zealand Over 55’s, and an Australian Aboriginal Over 50’s team, competing in a spirited triangular format.

Course Etiquette & Rules of Golf - Member Awareness

Recent reports and feedback have highlighted that some members-both new and longstanding-are unfamiliar with important aspects of course etiquette and general golf rules.

To help address this, please review the key reminders below to ensure fair play and respect for fellow members, and club policies are adhered to.

Key Reminders:

  • Bunker Etiquette:
    Always rake your shot area including all footprints. Avoid walking up steep bunker faces, and return rakes to the center of the bunker.

  • No Grounding Club in Bunker:
    Do not ground your club or take practice swings that touch the sand before playing a bunker shot.

  • No "Gimme" Putts in Competition:
    All putts must be holed unless a wipe applies. Picking up without holing is not permitted in competitions.

  • Rule E-5 (Lost Ball/Out of Bounds):
    Ranfurlie use of the Alternate rule (E-5) as an option apart from stroke and distance I.E. When a provisional ball is played. Please click rules below for details.

  • Rule 10.2a - Advice:
    Players must not give or receive advice (e.g., club selection, direction) during individual competitions.

  • Rule 9.4b - Moving the Ball:
    Do not touch or move your ball unless identifying it under Rule 3.4.3.

  • Alcohol Policy:
    Bringing your own alcohol onto club grounds is prohibited and breaches our liquor license. Offenders will face disciplinary action.

Titleist Demo Wedges + Upcoming Fitting Event

Ranfurlie is pleased to offer the complete range of Titleist demo wedges, available for trial and fitting. To help you find the perfect addition to your short game setup, Jack Cox and Bobby Parish will be hosting wedge fitting sessions at the short game area.

No bookings are required-simply take note of the scheduled dates and times, and drop by to test out the wedge that could elevate your game.

Sessions available:

  • Thursday 15th May - 12noon to 2pm
  • Saturday 17th May - 1pm to 3pm
  • Tuesday 20th May - 10am to 12pm
  • Friday 23rd May - 12pm - 2pm

Ranfurlie will be hosting a specialist Titleist club fitting event on Tuesday, 27 May - a great opportunity to experience the latest in Titleist irons, woods and wedges, professionally fitted to your game.

Sessions will be conducted on-site by Titleist fitting expert Ian Merrett, ensuring personalised insights and top-level service.

Such objections shall be considered by the Board, whose decision shall be final.

Please note members on Monthly direct debits, now have just 7 days after their payment defaults to fixup their missing payment before having their membership suspended. Members in this situation can reactivate their account at any time by paying either online, or at the Ranfurlie Pro Shop or Sports Bar tills.

If you have new payment details to update, or you are having financial difficulty please contact membership early to assist at.

We ask that members please be aware that paying your invoices online subjects you to a small surcharge of 1.65% plus 0.55c. If you wish to avoid this fee, you can pay your invoices in person at the Pro Shop or over the phone. 
Please also avoid using apple pay processes which are not accepted by Payrix or Mi Club.
