Ranfurlie Pennant Wins Again!

Fantastic win again by our team in trying conditions last Sunday. Please see below for the Pennant Managers Report...

Ranfurlie moved to second place on the table with an impressive 5-2 win against Club Mandalay GC at Cheltenham last Sunday. Anthony Arce continued his good winning form with a 5-4 victory, while Peter Kane 5-4, Jamie Ricardo 4-3, Stefan Scutti 2-1 and Daniel Burnett 3-2 also prevailed in difficult playing conditions brought about by intermittent heavy rain showers. Both Matches that were lost went down by the narrowest of margins at the 18th Hole.

Round 5 results confirm Ranfurlie is one of the only 3 teams still in the running to fill first and second place on the table to qualify for the play-off final. Berwick leads the table with Churchill Park/Waverley in third place.

Round 6 matches at Berwick next Sunday will not settle the finishing positions which will be decided in Round 7 at Bacchus Marsh on 21st April. Given the uncertainty  of other results, the only guaranteed route to a play off position is for Ranfurlie to win both remaining matches, against Melton Valley at Berwick and Churchill Waverley at Bacchus Marsh.

Masters Tournament This Monday April 15th

The Masters Monday event is scheduled to be on, with the Members lounge open from 6am for viewing of the final round's play!

Egg and Bacon Rolls will be a available from 7am (*Pending Numbers). For those watching the tournament until the end, there is a block of time slots between 9:30 - 10:30am to play after the conclusion of the broadcast. Please make sure to book your name on separate timesheet so we know how many are coming.

There will be a Members Competition off the White Tees for Men, and Red Tees for Women at a cost $5. We encourage Members to invite guests along at normal Members guest rates.

*PLEASE NOTE: We have not had anyone so far place their name on the separate timesheet as of today. If numbers are still low by Thursday 11th April evening, the cooked breakfast option will be cancelled. Regardless, there will be staff on hand from 6am to turn on the TV for viewing. A regular Casual competition will then be undertaken and reserved spots removed between 9:30am and 10:30am.

PGA Scramble Event (Sunday May 19)

Members are reminded this popular event will be held on the weekend following Mother's Day, on Sunday May 19. Registration will be at 8am for an 8:30am shotgun start.  

When registering a team, please note the following:

  • You must have all individual Golflink Numbers and full names on hand
  • Members Price is $50, and $70 for guest
  • Early bird bookings will receive preference for starting holes closest to the clubhouse.

Members who are singles looking for a team or have only 2 or 3 members, please let the golf shop know and we will attempt to match you into groups as best we can.

New Locker Update

Members please note new Lockers in 2 sizes large (displayed to the right), and small are coming soon, starting with the Women's lockers to be installed shortly.

It has been decided that there will be no annual fee, but there will be a Bond payable (amount TBC), depending on the size chosen at the start of use. This money will go to the Junior Foundation. On conclusion of locker use members will be refunded the total amount, pending that the locker is in the same condition as when it was hired, and no alterations have been made to the new locker. 

For interest in reserving a locker please leave your details with the Pro Shop. Lockers will be booked until all reservations have been filled at which time a waiting list will be compiled thereafter.

Also please let the Pro Shop know if you would like to take home any of the old grey lockers at no charge as these will shortly be thrown out when the new ones are installed. You would need to arrange your own pickup of these old lockers.

April Corporate Day

Please note the following Friday Corporate Day for this Friday 12th  April. As there will be limited time slots, we recommend using your reciprocal privileges at one of our nearby Courses.

Fog Policy

It is a good time to remind all members that the fog season is upon us. If you have not seen the policy on our website please click below the current fog policy and the process when we encounter a fog event.

This policy is for the safety of Ground staff, fellow golfers ahead in the field and a process for Pro Staff to follow when required. 

Please always treat our staff with respect when they are doing their job.

Book My Group Feature

Members currently when booking themselves and individual playing partners manually can only delete their own names and the other player/s are the only ones that can delete their name.

When a member uses the "Book My Group" feature to book in regular playing partners, the person the made the booking has the ability to delete or rearrange any of the 4 names in the group. 

When doing this first please make sure all of your group are aware that you are making the changes before proceeding with any changes or deletions.

Current Members may lodge a written objection to any application, addressed to the Golf Services Manager, Andrew Bourne abourne@ranfurlie.com.au

Such objections shall be considered by the Board, whose decision shall be final.

Please note members on Monthly direct debits, now have just 7 days after their payment defaults to fixup their missing payment before having their membership suspended. Members in this situation can reactivate their account at any time by paying either online, or at the Ranfurlie Pro Shop or Sports Bar tills.
