AMITEE WEEKEND MARCH 6TH-8TH A GREAT SUCCESS

Ranfurlie and Amstel Club were at their finest last weekend for the 50th Anniversary of Amitee. Over 150 people came together from Ranfurlie and our three interstate reciprocal clubs to celebrate this wonderful event which has brought so many people together with many life long friendships having been formed.

Friday was the Ladies Calamitee Cup with Anne Barrett from Nudgee the clear winner with 47pts. The Captain's & President's held their traditional match at St Andrews Beach along with 30 members who were keen to play the course.

Saturday was the Men's Captain's Trophy won by Ranfurlie Member Steve Wright. It was great to see a trophy stay at home as Nudgee swept the pool in the team trophies on both Friday and Saturday.

Sunday saw 150 players compete in a Mixed Irish 5 Ball which was enjoyed by all.

Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast at Ranfurlie each morning and were treated to 3 course dinners and entertainment each night at Amstel Club. It certainly was a great way to showcase our new venue.

A massive thank you to all who contributed to the organisation of the weekend. Both Ranfurlie and Amstel staff were at their finest, ensuring our interstate guests were made feel very welcome. Special mention too, to our groundstaff who worked wonders after massive rain on the Wednesday night prior to the event, pulling out all stops to ensure the course was presented at its best.

With Amitee 2020 done & dusted we can now look forward to next year's event at Tea Tree Gully in Adelaide. Participants pay just $250 for what is a jam packed weekend of golf, fun and camaraderie. Why not join us next year March 5-7 and experience it for yourself?
