Men's Foursomes Championships - This Saturday 11th October

Members are reminded that Round One of the Foursomes Championships will be played this Saturday, 11th October, with the entire field competing in Stroke Foursomes off the back black course.  For all Saturday players , there will be a daily net pairs competition for the whole field and we will be using the Mi Club system with all cards pre printed and the ability to also use the Mi Score App facility on the day.

Scratch Section: The top four pairs of Men's best gross scores, who are eligible and available, will qualify for the Semi Finals on Saturday morning on the 18th October, with the Final to follow at approximately midday on the same day.

Please note: Pairs wishing to qualify must tick the Gross Foursomes Qualifying column in the first week to confirm their entry. For the 18 Hole Net event, team handicap consists of half total combined daily handicaps.

The Longest Day – Golf for a Great Cause - Monday December 8th

The Longest Day is an endurance golf challenge that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council. Participants take on 36, 54, or the full 72 holes in one day — testing their stamina, spirit, and love of the game — all in support of cancer research and prevention.

It’s a great way to spend a day on the course with mates, push yourself to the limit, and make a real difference in the fight against cancer. 

Registration is now open for members and their guests with guests paying the one 18 hole fee regardless of how many holes they play, and any Cart hire will be charged at $44 per 18 holes required.

Women’s Final Round - Foursomes Championships

Our 2nd & Final Round Foursomes Championships for the women concluded today, and we’re pleased to announce the winners of each division.

Congratulations to Lyn Hoey and Cheryl Thompson, who claimed this year’s Gross Foursomes Championship with a two-round total of 186 gross.

Net Foursomes Champions (pictured right)
Congratulations also to Heather Sims and Judy Kennedy, winners of the Net Foursomes Championship with a score of 140.5 net.

A big well done to all pairs who competed in this year’s event — thank you for making it another great competition!

Exciting News from Callaway!

Members can now book fitting sessions at the Callaway Performance Centre in Rowville through the Ranfurlie Pro Shop staff — at no charge to the member.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you’re considering a new set of clubs and a great alternative to waiting for our next Callaway fitting day.

Members are also reminded that our teaching professionals, Jack Cox and Ben Bunny, offer one complimentary Callaway or Titleist club fitting per calendar year (up to one hour) using the full range of heads and shafts available in our state-of-the-art Golf Academy fitting room.

Junior Pennant Update – Round 1

Match: Ranfurlie vs Spring Valley @ Ranfurlie

Result: Ranfurlie 2.5 – Spring Valley 3.5 

Despite a closely contested match, the team fell just short in Round 1. A sincere thank you to all players, caddies, and supporters who came out to show their encouragement on the day. A special mention goes to Charlie Taukiri, who delivered a standout moment by eagling the 18th hole to secure a crucial half point in his match—well done, Charlie!

We encourage everyone to come down and support the team in their next match against Southern Golf Club, taking place at Ranfurlie this Sunday at 12:45 PM.

Senior Pennant Round 1 at Rossdale

Home course advantage proved decisive as Ranfurlie went down in both scratch and handicap divisions against Rossdale last Friday.

Stephen Allder tied with his opponent in the scratch event while the handicap matches saw Jon Macgregor outlast his opponent to win at the 18th and Gi Won Kang quite remarkably won 2/up playing at number one in his first ever Matchplay contest.

This coming Friday the teams visit the National GC Gunnamatta course to play Woodlands GC.

Clinics Term 4 – Nearly Full  

Get ready for Term 4 Clinics at Ranfurlie! We have programs available for Juniors, Women, Beginners, and Intermediates — but spots are filling quickly. With only some Sunday spots available at 9am, 9.45am and 10.30am.

Important Notice – Handicap Adjustments and Competition Resumption

Members are advised that while messaging indicates Monday, 6th October as the date for handicaps to be adjusted and competition handicapping to resume, please note the following clarification:

While competition handicapping will indeed recommence from Monday, 6th October, Australia-wide handicap recalculations are still being processed and finalised until Thursday, 10th October. As a result, some players competing earlier in the week may still play off their previous handicaps before the updates are fully reflected.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period. The latest advice indicates that all handicap updates will be completed by 10th October.
