GPL Season - Semi Final Results

Last Saturday’s GPL Semi Finals were played in tough conditions, with some great contests across the board. 
The results were:

• Tee Breakers defeated Pie Munchers 102–95
• Foregasms defeated Ivan’s Faves 105–97 

These results set up an exciting Grand Final this Saturday, with Tee Breakers taking on Foregasms. Best of luck to both teams! 

All those teams that missed out on the final will be able to compete this coming Saturday in “The Best of the Rest”, where the top team score will see their name engraved on the knockout trophy. 

Presentation to the Winners and Runners-Up will be held the following Saturday, 13 September, along with the announcement of our All Ranfurlie Team of the Season and the Brownlow Medal winner (Best overall individual player of the season).

Ace on 15th

Congratulations to Gold Member Kevin Forster, who scored a hole-in-one on the Par 3 15th last Saturday!

For his fantastic achievement, Kevin receives a Hole-in-One cap, a certificate, and a bottle of Shiraz—compliments of our valued partners, St Hallett Wines.

Changes Coming to Ranfurlie Golf Club

There are a few important changes on the way for golfers. Golf Australia CONNECT will replace the GOLF Link system and go live on 2 October 2025 as Golf Australia’s new digital platform. This new system will feature a fresh website (GOLF.com.au) and an official Golf Australia App to manage handicaps and other digital services.

Please note that GOLF Link will cease to operate on 28 September 2025, creating a short blackout period for handicapping before the new platform launches. From October 2, all handicapping will be managed through the new Golf Australia App.

Booking System Update – Effective October 1

To address issues with no-shows especially on weekend timesheets and the challenges many working members face with the 10am release time, the club is introducing the following changes for a trial period:

• Members:

  • Bookings will open 6 days in advance at 7pm.

  • Sundays will remain an exception: bookings will open 7 days in advance at 7:15pm.

• Lifestyle Members:

  • Weekday bookings will follow the same system as above.

  • Weekend bookings will continue to open at 10am on the Monday Morning, 5 & 6 days prior.

Example:

• Bookings for the following Saturday timesheet will open on the Sunday at 7pm.

• Bookings for the following Sunday timesheet will open on the same Sunday at 7:15pm.

TIMESHEET EXTENDED FROM OCTOBER 1 - MIDWEEK

In addition to make the most of daylight savings, Ranfurlie Golf Timesheets off the 1st Tee will be extended until 6:45 pm from 1 October, Monday to Friday only (excluding competition days). This will give golfers more opportunity to enjoy late afternoon social rounds, fit in extra holes after work, and take full advantage of the longer evenings.

We kindly ask that members only book a tee time if you are confident you will be able to play. This helps ensure all available spots can be enjoyed by those ready to attend on the day. 

We also remind members not to walk onto the course without a booking. This is a breach of health and safety protocols, particularly in the case of extreme weather events or other emergencies, where it is essential that we know exactly who is on the course at all times.

Applications Now Open - Carts for members with mobility or disability requirements

Ranfurlie Golf Club remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all members can continue to enjoy golf—both socially and competitively—for as long as possible.

In line with this commitment, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that applications are once again open for members seeking special consideration due to a verified mobility disability. 

Canadian Stableford Mixed Event – Roy Battley Plate

Sunday 14th September

Bookings open 9 days prior, with allocated tee times from 12:00 midday in 4's or 6's.
The competition format will be Canadian Stableford, with combined handicaps calculated at ⅜ (three-eighths).

• Pro Shop staff will be available on the day to assist anyone new to the format.

• Manual entry will be used, with both an entry sheet and scorecards provided.

Please note: A minimum of 4 pairs on the timesheet is required for this event to proceed.

Events @ Amstel

There’s been a lot of interest lately in booking our function spaces here at the Amstel Group, and as a result, dates for the rest of 2025 are filling up quickly.

Our functions team is currently busy organising a range of events, including birthdays, baby showers, weddings, and engagements, for both members and guests.

If you’re thinking about holding a celebration, we recommend reaching out soon.
