Club Championship Report
Published on 21st February 2026 in Members News, UncategorizedThe Club Championship quarter-finals delivered plenty of drama as the field narrowed towards the business end of the season.
Mark Halas edged past Ben Shelag in the match of the round, grinding out an 8/7 victory in a contest that had everyone talking. In the other half of the draw, Michael Hanrahan was in strong form, defeating Rikau Carlyon 2/1 to book his place in the semi-finals.
Dan Burnett also advanced with a solid performance, accounting for Matthew James 4/3 to keep his championship hopes alive.
Semi-Finals
The semi-finals were played in great spirit (and with plenty of interest around the clubhouse), with the following match-ups:

Mark Halas vs Michael Hanrahan — Winner: Mark Halas 4/3 slowly wearing down his opponent who was up to the challenge early with an amazing eagle on the first.

Dan Burnett vs Shaun Burnett — Winner: 5/4 in a classic father-and-son battle… and as for what was said out there, we’ll keep that safely between them!
The Final
The 36-hole Club Championship Final will be contested next Saturday between Mark and Dan.
