Halas lights up Ranfurlie as Club Championships hit top gear

Andrew Anderson has turned on an absolute showcase this week, with the course presenting in beautiful condition for the Club Championships. From pristine fairways and true putting surfaces to picture-perfect weather for scoring, it’s been the kind of setup that rewards confident ball-striking and a hot putter — and that’s exactly what we’ve seen.

The headline performance so far belongs to Mark Halas, who has stamped his authority on the championship with a superb 64, setting the early benchmark and putting the field on notice. Halas was in complete control from start to finish, combining sharp iron play with calm, composed putting to post a round that will take some chasing. With momentum firmly on his side, he’s looking every bit the player to beat as the championship continues.

In the Seniors, Mick Caruso has taken the early lead with a great score of 77, navigating the course smartly and capitalizing on the excellent scoring conditions.

Over in the Juniors, Charlie Taukiri currently leads the way on 74, continuing the strong run of young talent coming through at Ranfurlie and showing plenty of composure under championship pressure.

With leaderboards taking shape and plenty of golf still to be played, there’s a big finish brewing across all divisions.
