COURSE SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT – DECEMBER 2025

Published on 5th December 2025 in Members News

As we head into summer, we’re pleased to share the Summer 2025 Course Superintendent’s Report, presented by Andrew Anderson.

This quarterly update provides a clear overview of course conditions, recent progress across all major playing surfaces, and the current status of key projects. Andrew also touches on the extremely challenging weather experienced this November – one of the wettest on record – and how the team has adapted to ensure the course continues to perform strongly.

Alongside this report, we’ve included a link to the recently filmed 4th Hole Construction Update, which remains highly relevant as the redevelopment enters it’s final stages.

Andrew’s Summer Report Highlight Includes:

Near-Record rainfall & unseasonably cool temperatures – how the team is adapting to one of the wettest Novembers ever recorded.

Surrounds & approaches – strong performance heading into summer with a focus on maintaining quality through hotter periods despite irrigation limitations.

Tee complexes – significant improvements, especially par 3 tees, with preparations underway to build resilience ahead in January-February.

Fairways – good condition and strong coverage heading into summer, with strategic work underway to build resilience ahead of drying weather.

Rough management & fescue establishment – over 75,000m2 seeded, with traffic control and selective spraying planned to protect new growth.

Bunker program – update on weather impacts, priority scheduling, and continued successful results from the new reconstructions method.

Vegetation & Landscaping – two new team members joining the vegetation division to elevate natural areas around the course.

Summer play reminder – a busy period ahead; members encouraged to care for the course and each other through peak season.

Greens update – cool-season growth performing well despite rain interruptions, with recent sanding helping smooth and firm surfaces.

4th hole redevelopment on track – turfing underway, surrounds soon to follow, and the hole expected to return to play by late January.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to catch up on both videos as they provide a clear picture of current conditions, upcoming works, and what lies ahead as we move into summer.

Andrew will also look to schedule additional member course walks in the new year, once the festive period settles down. These videos remain a great way to learn more about the course, ask questions, and see project areas up close.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and pride in Ranfurlie. Wishing all members a safe, enjoyable lead-in to Christmas and a fantastic summer of golf ahead.
