4th Hole Project
We are pleased to share the detailed plans for the upcoming works on the 4th hole. This is an exciting project for the club, representing a major step in improving one of Ranfurlie’s most strategic holes and ensuring it can be enjoyed at the highest standard for many years to come.
The green complex will be rebuilt to create a greater choice of pinnable areas and improved playing surfaces. After consultation with our advising architects, the club has opted to remove three bunkers from the complex. The existing bunkers were identified as being of quite poor quality in our audit, and their placement has meant there are several constraints around this green. Their removal allows for a more balanced layout, reducing ongoing maintenance pressures while still maintaining strategic challenge for golfers.
These improvements are not only about addressing past challenges but about creating something better — a more resilient, consistent, and enjoyable hole that enhances the course as a whole.
If works proceed without delay, the project is expected to be completed before Christmas, with the 4th returning to play once the new surfaces have matured and are ready to handle traffic.
We thank members for their patience and continued support as we deliver this important step forward for the course. 4th hole Works Diagram
